I was going to say we had a busy weekend, but in retrospect I don't think we actually did that much.
Nick went to a birthday party on Saturday at one of the St. Paul city pools. Xander got to tag along. Nick had a wonderful time; Xander did not. Xander runs hot and cold on the whole swimming experience. He's had fun the past few times at the beach, but this pool was too busy with too much splashing. He spent most of the time anchored to my side while I hung out with the other dads. He did enjoy the food and treat bags, so it wasn't a total loss.
We had frozen pizza for dinner and Nick amazed us by eating nearly seven slices of an eight-slice frozen pizza. Good thing we made two! It won't be long and we'll need to make three.
We really didn't do much of anything today. Nick talked Allison into a new Star Wars Lego set on Friday, so he's been building that and tearing it down all weekend. Let the record show that Allison is the 'softy' in our family. Xander scored a killer whale (sorry, orca) and a sperm whale, which made him extremely happy. That boy loves marine creatures the way Nick loved dinosaurs.
Now it is night and the boys finally seem to be asleep. There was a minor incident involving Xander being struck by a thrown object after lights out, so I guess the guys are done with peaceful bonding for a while. Oh, well. It was nice while it lasted.

Injuries are part of the bonding experience. They will be able to talk "scars" later.
Hans should stop asking me and start asking Allison to buy him Star Wars Lego sets...I'll let him know!
