To make a long story short - I went back and got the stupid shopping cart. It occurred to me while Nick was questioning my behavior that I was setting a bad example in some way. Maybe by abandoning the shopping cart I was telling him it was okay to engage in all sorts of anti-social behavior like littering, pet abandonment, or carjacking. I decided that to set a good example for the kids I should go get the cart and return it to the area by the front door.
That and Allison told me to go get the #$@!* cart.
