I completed my writing challenge yesterday and today. Thanks to those who asked. The reason I'm posting my progress is to give myself some extra motivation to stick with it.

Saturday, Saturday
It was kind of a busy Saturday. I got a haircut and talked thinning hair and baldspots with my barber, Pete. Always a fascinating conversation. I returned my stats book and mailed some stuff I sold on eBay. Allison and the boys hit the farmers market and hung at her Mom's for a while.
This afternoon we went to the park and came home for pizza. Here's a picture of the boys doing some climbing.

Here's picture of one of Nick's Lego Star Wars kits - Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Starfighter. Have I mentioned that the kid is obsessed with Star Wars?
I completed my writing challenge for today. Things had been going smoothly, but today was rough. The stuff I wrote was horrible. Really bad. Pointless drivel. My computer actually groaned when I hit the save button. But I did it. And that's what's important.

Writing Challenge - Day 4
I met my goal for today. In fact, I exceeded my goal.
Not much to write about. Still don't have the Nick pictures.
We checked out the preschool that Xander's going to attend for a couple hours each morning this school year. It seems nice and I think being around other kids more will be good for him. It's conveniently located about a block from Nick's school.
I dropped out of fantasy football this year, but last night I attended the annual draft for my old league to select players for someone who was out of town. It was good to see some old co-workers, but it was also a big drag because we were near the Target Center and there was a Rage Against The Machine concert last night. Lots of scruffy guys and lots of cops hanging around. Luckily I was out of there by 7:30 or so. There were around 200 arrests after the concert. Fun stuff.
I ended up dropping my stats class today. In part because it conflicted with Nick's soccer, in part because I want to focus on my writing, and in part because there's a large tree on our property that needs to be removed before it falls on something. Financially speaking, I decided I'd rather deal with just the tree rather than the tree plus tuition for the class I was no longer very excited about. It'll be there next semester if I want to take it then.
Gotta go. The boys are banging on the walls in their bedroom and making the pictures shake in the living room.

Writing Challenge - Day 3
I met my goal for day 3 yesterday, then forgot to post my update before I went to bed.
Sorry for not getting the first day of school photos published, they're on Allison's camera and she hasn't made them available to me. (Hint, hint.)
Today is my first day of school; my stats class starts tonight. My biggest concern is where to park - dealing with the U of M main campus is a bit of a pain. Hopefully I won't be late or get lost or show up in my underwear.

Writing Challenge - Day 2
I've completed my writing challenge for today. Two down, twenty-eight to go.
I'll be posting later with some pictures of Nick and the first day of school. Assuming Blogger lets me upload photos today.

Writing Challenge - Day 1
I completed my goal for today by writing a 1000 word journal entry and 1100 words of fiction. I'm very pleased that I didn't have to report failure on the very first day.

30 Day Challenge
Tomorrow I'm going to start a 30 day challenge. My goal is to write a 1000 word journal entry and a 1000 words of something else every day during the month of September. Hopefully at the end of 30 days I'll have established the habit of writing a bunch every day.
I'll be logging my progress here every day. Who knows, I may even have the energy to blog about stuff, too.
