Yesterday I cooked two perfect sunny-side up eggs. Most people probably take something like this for granted, but I've always struggled with this seemingly simple task. The eggs have always ended up too runny or too done. As a result, I've mainly stuck with making scrambled eggs over the years. Very hard to screw those up.
Anyway, the secret to figuring out sunny-side up eggs was this book: How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman (http://www.amazon.com/How-Cook-Everything-Simple-Recipes/dp/0471789186/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216467564&sr=8-1). It does what it says on the cover and it has been tremendously helpful this summer as I've tried to learn to cook things.
